valentines day

there are parts that i like about japanese valentine day/white day and parts i dont like. the parts that i like you get two days to spend with your boy/girl friend. or if you really like someone it gives you a chance to tell them that you like them. i dont like that you have to give gifts to all your guy friends. although it would be nice to get gifts back from all of them.
i think that the japanese give too many gifts, but i dont think that americans give enough gifts. i think that some of the thankyou gifts can be very heartfelt and meaningful.
i would like to participate in valentines day if i was in japan, it would be a chance to learn more about the culture and i could strengthen my reltionships with my friends.

  1. It's true most Americans give gifts manly on birthdays and holidays.

  2. I agree. Girls think about how many chocolates need to be prepared. sometimes, they have to give very very far friends or someone who they just know the name.

  3. I could see the obligation chocolates and gifts becoming a little overwhelming too but all in all I think its a better set up then American valentine's day.
